Matching old roof tiles
Matching old roof tiles is about size first, then colour. Bring or send us one of your tiles: we can make a like-for-like size by hand, and suggest a Tudor colour or blend that sits with weathered tiles, such as Jubilee or the English Oak range.

Size first
Old tiles were made to local sizes, and new tiles that are even slightly different will show. We make handmade peg and plain tiles to like-for-like dimensions, with fittings to match, usually within 4–6 weeks.
Then colour and weathering when matching old roof tiles
No new tile looks exactly like one that has been on a roof for a century, but a handmade tile gets close. Each Tudor tile varies in tone, so it blends in rather than standing out, and some colours are made for the job:
- Jubilee gives an instantly aged look when mixed with other colours
- English Oak is designed for seamless repairs and extensions on Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian homes
- English Dark Oak recalls the 18th-century peg tiles of the South East
Colours are packed separately, so your roofer can blend two or three to match. The Roof Tile Association guide to the best visual effect explains how roofers mix tiles from different pallets.

See it before you buy
Order samples and hold them up to your roof in daylight, because screens change colours. We can also give you addresses where Tudor tiles are on roofs near you, and you are welcome at the factory in Lydd by appointment.
