# Sussex Red roof tiles

Sussex Red roof tiles are part of Tudor’s Sussex colours. A finer grain of Kent sand than most of our tiles is pressed into the face of each tile before firing, which gives a orange tone in keeping with handmade tiles of old.

## What Sussex Red looks like

Sussex Red has a orange tone. Because every tile is pressed by hand, no two are quite the same shade, so a Sussex Red roof reads as one colour with a gentle, natural variation rather than a flat finish.

## How Sussex Red tiles get their colour

A finer grain of Kent sand than most of our tiles is pressed into the face of each tile before firing. Fired, it gives a bright orange red.

Sussex Red and Sussex Brown use a finer sand than the Antique colours, for a smoother, brighter face. They complement the Traditional range.
