# Sussex Brown roof tiles

Sussex Brown roof tiles are part of Tudor’s Sussex colours. A finer grain of Kent sand than most of our tiles is pressed into the face of each tile before firing, which gives a lighter brown tone in keeping with handmade tiles of old.

## What Sussex Brown looks like

Sussex Brown has a lighter brown tone. Because every tile is pressed by hand, no two are quite the same shade, so a Sussex Brown roof reads as one colour with a gentle, natural variation rather than a flat finish.

## How Sussex Brown tiles get their colour

A finer grain of Kent sand than most of our tiles is pressed into the face of each tile before firing. Fired, it gives a lighter brown.

Sussex Brown and Sussex Red use a finer sand than the Antique colours, for a smoother face. They complement the Traditional range.
